Your privacy

Your information, handled with care

Shine Care Group ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) 13 Australian Privacy Principles NDIS Reg. #4-L20VYTM

01 What information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, phone number and suburb
  • Your NDIS participant number, if you choose to provide it
  • Details you share about your support needs and goals
  • Once you become a participant: NDIS plan details, relevant health information and emergency contacts

In short: nothing beyond what we need to arrange and deliver your supports.

02 How we collect it

We collect information directly from you — through our website contact form, by phone, email, or in person — and, where relevant, from your support coordinator, plan manager, or the NDIA, with your consent.

A note on our website form

Our enquiry form uses a third-party form-processing service to deliver your enquiry to our email inbox, so your details may pass through servers operated outside Australia before reaching us. We use it only to route enquiries to our email, and it does not retain your information beyond that purpose.

03 Why we collect it

We use your information to respond to enquiries, provide and coordinate supports, meet our obligations as a registered NDIS provider, and communicate with you about your services. We do not use your information for unrelated marketing without your consent.

04 Sensitive information

Some information we hold — such as health information related to your disability or support needs — is "sensitive information" under the Privacy Act and receives a higher level of protection. We only collect this with your consent, and only use it for the purpose of providing your supports.

05 Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including secure storage and restricted staff access.

06 Sharing with third parties

We only share your information where necessary to deliver your supports (for example, with your plan manager or the NDIA), where required by law, or with your consent.

In short: we do not sell your personal information.

07 Access and correction

You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time — just contact us using the details below. We'll respond within 30 days.

08 Complaints about privacy

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below — we'll take it seriously and respond quickly.
